Add equipment with AI

At Northwind Precision's Galway plant, a drawer of paper calibration certificates, and an empty equipment list. Let AI read them for you.

Video, 2 min 0 s, in English. The steps are written out below.

Steps

  1. Overview → Equipment

Start on the Equipment list. It is empty. Drop your certificates here, and AI reads them and adds the pieces.

  2. Drop one certificate

Drop one certificate, a caliper. AI reads the page, and shows what it found.

The caliper is in the list, with its calibration.

  3. Add a few more

Drop three more. A multimeter, a torque wrench and a pressure gauge are added by themselves.

  4. Drop the rest

Drop the last six. After the first five pieces, you confirm each one. Nothing is added without a person.

  5. Check each against its file

Open one beside its file, check what AI read, and confirm it as a new piece. Then the rest.

  6. Ten pieces

Ten pieces, of ten different kinds.

  7. Types made for you

The equipment types come from what was read.

  8. Labs found

So do the calibration suppliers, the labs named on the certificates.

  9. Calibration history

Every calibration from last year is in the history.

  10. A year later

A year later, drop the new certificates. They match the same pieces, and show as ready. Record the ten ready ones.

Each piece now has two calibrations, and a new due date.

  11. AI credits

Owners and Admins see the credits used in Settings.

Good to know: Equipment

  • Tick several pieces to change them at once, or to record one calibration result for all of them.
  • Export gives you the pieces the list shows as a sheet. Import reads such a sheet back and shows what will change before anything is applied.
  • Drop calibration certificates on the list: they wait in Certificates until you press Analyze (all of them, the ones you tick, or one), so no AI credit is used without you. Each is then matched to its piece for you to check. Each page read uses one AI credit; Owners and Admins see them in Settings.
  • Hundreds at once: the Show buttons narrow the list to the ready ones, those that need you, those not analyzed or not read; Record the ready ones records every ready file in one go.
  • Each app lists its own equipment: GageMakkal what is calibrated, MainteMakkal what maintenance looks after. A piece in both is one piece: open it and choose “Also maintain in MainteMakkal” or “Also calibrate in GageMakkal”.
  • In MainteMakkal the list shows how critical each machine is (A, B or C) and its work: how many jobs are to do, the most urgent one, whether one is late, and requests waiting.
  • A machine’s Maintenance history tab lists every job done, cancelled or declined on it, newest first.
