How to set equipment types and calibration intervals

At Northwind Precision's Galway plant, the multimeters are calibrated every twelve months. Change it once, for the type.

Steps

1. Overview → Equipment types

   Start on the Overview. Choose Equipment types in the sidebar.

2. Open a type

   Open the type, for example multimeters.

3. Interval

   Change the calibration interval from twelve months to six.

4. Review what changes

   GageMakkal shows which pieces get new due dates.

Good to know: Equipment types

• A lock on a type stops single pieces from differing.
• A type that is no longer bought can be retired: its pieces stay, new ones cannot be added to it.
• Each app lists its own types: those made in it and those its pieces use. A type used by both apps shows in both, counting only that app’s pieces.
