How to record an in-house calibration
At Northwind Precision's Galway plant, an auditor picks up a Mitutoyo caliper and asks when it was checked, and against what; GageMakkal keeps that answer with the piece.
Steps
- Open the piece
Open the caliper's page to record the check you have just completed.
Choose Record calibration to open the form for your own team.
- Enter the check
Tick the reference standard you used; an overdue standard cannot be selected.
Enter Marta Fischer as the person who calibrated it.
Enter twelve minutes for the time the check took.
Check the date and result against the work you completed.
- Record and verify
Press Record to save the calibration.
Open History and certificates to see the standard, who calibrated it, and the time taken.
Good to know: A piece of equipment
- Record a calibration from here: the next due date is worked out from the interval.
- A piece follows its equipment type for who calibrates it and how often. Give it its own value, with a reason, only where it really differs.
- Drag a certificate onto the page: press Analyze and it is read, matched to the piece it is about, and shown to you before anything is recorded.
- Move the piece to another location and its earlier places stay in its history.
- In MainteMakkal: Meters shows its running hours (or strokes, kilometres) and their latest readings. Anyone, operators too, adds a reading; a reading can’t be less than the last one. Planners add meters; a plan due by a meter adds its own.
